South Korean groups SF9’s Chani and WJSN’s Eunseo are all set to star in the upcoming fantasy romance drama titled Jinx. Kakao TV on September 17 officially announced that the two idols’ upcoming drama will premiere on October 6 at 9 a.m. KST.
Jinx is a fantasy romance drama starring Chani as Kyu Han, a seemingly ordinary student who is cursed with an unlucky jinx. Every time he sneezes, things go exactly the opposite of what he hopes, forcing him into all sorts of unfortunate situations in his daily life. However, despite his supernatural bad luck, he still romantically chooses to pursue his one-sided crush, believing that if he just tries his hardest, there’s nothing he can’t achieve.
According to Soompi, Chani said his character is always experiencing unpredictable bad luck but never loses his sincerity and his perseverance. He said, “The character will warm viewers’ hearts, to the extent where I found healing in playing the role. Because he’s a character with many charms, I had a lot of fun playing him, and I hope that viewers will enjoy watching [him in the drama] as well.”
Eunseo will star as Se Kyung, Kyu Han’s beautiful but seemingly frosty co-worker who is brusque with her words and actions. Although she seems aloof and uninterested in romance, Se Kyung has a hidden soft side and is secretly struggling with painful memories. Eunseo said, “Because the cast and crew all filmed together in a convivial, friendly environment, I think viewers will be able to enjoy watching the drama as well. Please show a lot of interest in Jinx, which will premiere on October 6.”
Kakao TV also released two romantic posters for Jinx, which it describes as a “relatable fantasy romance.” One of the posters features Chani and Eunseo holding hands on a swing set, while the other captures them looking at each other as the caption reads, “Will we be able to love?”
On the work front, Chani last featured in drama Imitation this year whereas Eunseo was last featured in 2020 drama Dalgona.
Jinx is scheduled to premiere on October 6 at 9 a.m. KST. However, after the release, it will air every Wednesday and Saturday through Kakao TV.
